Sanctuary Care maintains close contact with the referring agencies and other community partners to ensure that the child can return to their own family in a timely manner.
We seek to offer a flexible service which can meet the needs of each individual family. Therefore, we endeavor to ensure that we have all the relevant information so as to assist the family in the most appropriate manner. We request a full social report, if the referrer is a professional.
During placement we will maintain a high level of contact with the child, child’s parents and foster parents. We will provide regular updates on their child and will support at least weekly access. We encourage our clients to talk to us about any barriers they may have in relation to taking the child home so that we can assess how best we can assist with the process.
After placement we will remain available to work with the family and provide support as necessary.
Throughout the placement we will provide ongoing support to the foster family. We provide any practical equipment that may be required such as strollers, cots etc. As well as covering the cost of milk powder, diapers and medical costs. We will maintain regular contact with the foster family and visit the child while they are in the placement. Sanctuary Care encourages our foster families to talk to us about any additional requirements they may have in order to continue to care for the child.
